At Wah Ji Wah we think big, even though we are a small restaurant! There are too many run-of-the-mill Indian restaurants and we have no desire to compete with any of them. We aim to be authentic in everything we do – our menus, our cooking and our service. We want to stand out from the crowd.

Behind every great restaurant, there’s always an exceptional chef and a shrewd business brain. Manish & Sanjeev have come together to bring their 30 plus years of five star experience to Manchester.

Manish began his career in the vibrant city of Agra – home to the world famous Taj Mahal – where he worked alongside some of India’s most respected chefs at the renowned Oberoi Hotel Group. After leaving Agra, he then moved to Chandigarh, which is widely regarded as one of India’s most cosmopolitan and progressive cities.

Having gained a growing reputation as an innovative and talented chef, it wasn’t long before Manish landed a dream position in Shanghai, at China’s five star Jin Jang Hotel, where his unique talent was appreciated by some of the world’s most discerning clientele. In 2001 he moved to the UK where he worked in a number of high profile restaurants in London and the Midlands.

Sanjeev is an experienced restauranteur and knows the market better than most. And when he identified a gap in the market for a restaurant that seamlessly merges from a quick and easy Indian café in the day, to a fine-dining establishment by night – both him and Manish were sold on Wah Ji Wah!
